The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of 
  portions of eastern Georgia
  much of South Carolina
  Coastal Waters

* Effective this Wednesday night and Thursday morning from 1135
  PM until 700 AM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
  A few tornadoes possible

SUMMARY...A few tornadoes are expected across the South Carolina
vicinity tonight and into the early morning hours, as Hurricane
Michael moves east-northeast across Georgia and into west-central
South Carolina with time.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 80 statute miles
either side of a line from 30 miles southwest of Greenville SC to 55
miles east southeast of Charleston SC. For a complete depiction of

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.



AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
surface and aloft to 0.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 600. Mean
storm motion vector 16045.
