The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of 
  West Texas

* Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 810 PM
  until 400 AM CDT.

* Primary threats include...
  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible
  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
  A tornado or two possible

SUMMARY...Isolated severe thunderstorms will remain possible this
evening initially across the Stockton Plateau vicinity. Other storms
should continue to develop and intensify through late evening across
other parts of the Transpecos. These storms will continue to spread
east-northeastward through the overnight, with the strongest storms
capable of hail, locally damaging winds, and possibly even a tornado
given a relatively moist environment and strengthening low-level

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 80
statute miles north and south of a line from 55 miles northwest of
Marfa TX to 70 miles southeast of Midland TX. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce


AVIATION...A few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to
2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
