Areas affected...East central Mississippi and west central Alabama

Concerning...Tornado Watch 25...

Valid 141801Z - 141900Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 25 continues.

SUMMARY...Several supercells have developed between Jackson and
Columbus, MS. These supercells are expected to strengthen through
the afternoon.

DISCUSSION...Several supercells have started to exhibit moderate
mid-level rotation between Jackson and Columbus, MS. Low-level
rotation in the appendages of these supercells have been noticeably
absent for the past hour. This is likely due to lower instability
farther north (500 to 750 J/kg MLCAPE near Columbus) and lower
low-level shear farther south (125 m2/s2 0-1 SRH at DGX VWP).
Through the afternoon, instability is expected to increase to 1000
to 1500 J/kg ahead of these storms as they move east into an
environment with over 300 m2/s2 0-1 SRH via GWX VWP. As the tornadic
environment becomes more favorable through the afternoon, expect
low-level rotation to start to organize with an increasing tornado
threat.
