Areas affected...southern Kansas through extreme northern Oklahoma

Concerning...Tornado Watch 146...

Valid 072301Z - 080030Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 146 continues.

SUMMARY...Greatest tornado threat through about 01Z is expected to
persist with leading supercell moving through southeast Kansas. This
storm will approach the eastern boundary of the WW within about an
hour. The WW can be locally extended as needed. Otherwise, main
threat across the remainder of WW 146 is large hail, but a couple of
brief tornadoes remain possible, mainly as storms cross the boundary
over extreme northern Oklahoma.

DISCUSSION...Front continues to move slowly southward through
northern OK, then becomes quasi-stationary across southeast KS. The
leading supercell over southeast KS appears to be located on the
front and will continue to pose a risk for large hail and isolated
tornadoes as it advances east into the moderately unstable warm
sector next couple hours. Otherwise, storms developing farther west
along the front are being quickly undercut shortly after initiation.
While a brief tornado or two is possible as the storms cross the
boundary, the main threat should be large hail.
