Areas affected...southern West Virginia/western and central Virginia

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 174...

Valid 180139Z - 180245Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 174
continues.

SUMMARY...Storms continue to gradually weaken, and have largely
vacated WW 174. Downstream risk for gusty/damaging winds should
remain limited/localized at best over the next 1-2 hours, as storms
slowly decrease in coverage/intensity.

DISCUSSION...Latest radar loop shows the last of the stronger storms
now moving through southeast fringes of WW 174 over southern West
Virginia. south and east of the watch, modest instability may
sustain a few stronger cells -- particularly near loosely coherent
outflow crossing the mountains. However, overall convective trends
should remain gradually downward, and thus watch will be allowed to
expire.
