Areas affected...south Texas

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 351...

Valid 100456Z - 100600Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 351
continues.

SUMMARY...Greatest severe threat through 07Z is expected to remain
over the western portion of WW 351, primarily along the Rio Grande
to the southeast of Del Rio.

DISCUSSION...Late this evening, most of the storms embedded within a
large MCS continues to weaken especially along its eastern two
thirds across south central TX. The outflow boundary has surged well
ahead of most of the reflectivity cores, most likely due to a
substantial increase in convective inhibition associated with
stabilization of the surface layer. An exception is with the small
cluster of storms southeast of Del Rio where outflow from the dying
downstream storms has merged with outflow from the ongoing activity,
resulting in renewed development along the southeast flank. This
activity may continue to propagate south southeast through the
moderately unstable environment along and just north of the
northwest-southeast oriented outflow boundary next hour or two,
posing a threat for damaging wind and hail before finally weakening.
