Areas affected...Portions of western/central NE

Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 506...

Valid 130302Z - 130430Z

The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 506
continues.

SUMMARY...Isolated strong to occasionally severe wind gusts should
remain the primary threat with storms across western/central
Nebraska this evening.

DISCUSSION...At 0235Z, a measured wind gust to 55 kt (63 mph)
occurred at KOGA in western NE with a loosely organized cluster of
storms moving eastward into central NE. Although mid-level winds and
related shear remain weak across this region, strong to extreme
instability (MLCAPE of 3000-4000+ J/kg) exists downstream. Given the
multicell/cluster mode that has developed, isolated strong to severe
winds will be the main threat with this activity for the next couple
of hours. Marginally severe hail may also occur with the strongest
cores embedded within the cluster.
