Areas affected...Eastern Oklahoma...southwest Missouri...and western
Arkansas

Concerning...Tornado Watch 707...

Valid 282245Z - 290015Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 707 continues.

SUMMARY...An isolated wind damage/tornado threat continues this
evening.

DISCUSSION...A strongly forced squall line extends from southeast
Kansas southward into northeast Texas. Instability is quite meager
ahead of this line which has reduced the overall severe weather
threat. In fact, northern portions of tornado watch 707 have less
than 100 J/kg MLCAPE. This limited instability has resulted in a
reduction of lightning along most of the line. Therefore, given the
lightning trends and the environment ahead of this line, expect the
severe weather threat to be limited. The thermodynamic environment
is somewhat more favorable in southern portions of the watch where
dewpoints are in the low 60s and MLCAPE is around 250 J/kg, but
forcing is weaker in this region.
